Anthony Siever
Software Developer
With a background in mathematics and philosophy, Carl approaches software development with a focus on problem-solving, critical thinking, and adaptability. Early in his career, he developed a strong interest in how systems work, which naturally led him to explore all layers of technology, from backend infrastructure to user interfaces.
Over time, he has become a resourceful full-stack developer, comfortable working across different parts of the stack and learning new tools as needed. He enjoys building practical, resilient solutions and taking a hands-on approach to development, always aiming to balance thoughtful design with real-world constraints.
What brought you to GCA, and what does GCA’s mission mean to you?
I was drawn to GCA by a shared belief that the Internet should be a safer and more trustworthy place for everyone. The growing challenges in cybersecurity and cyber hygiene call for creative solutions, and I’m excited to be part of an organization that takes a proactive, collaborative approach to strengthening the systems we all depend on.
What is the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?
A philosophy professor once told me that it’s always worth pursuing the opportunity to learn from those who inspire you, no matter the cost. While this felt like an advertisement for our graduate program at the time, that advice stayed with me, shaping how I approach learning, mentorship, and the pursuit of meaningful work throughout my life.
