Introducing the 2025 Annual Report: Strengthening the Internet, Protecting People

Today, we’re pleased to share GCA’s 2025 Annual Report: “Strengthening the Internet, Protecting People.” 2025 underscored both the complexity of global cyber risk and the power of collective action in addressing it. In our tenth anniversary year, we continued to drive measurable progress across individual, organizational, and infrastructure-level cybersecurity.

Under new Interim CEO Brian Cute, the report reflects a strategic commitment to deepen collaboration, scale practical solutions, and strengthen Internet resilience as critical global infrastructure. Throughout 2025, GCA focused on helping people and organizations navigate an evolving threat landscape defined by advancing AI-enabled attacks, persistent infrastructure vulnerabilities, and widening gaps in basic cyber protections.

Key highlights from the report include:

  • Practical personal protections: Expanded guidance and resources to help everyday Internet users recognize scams, adopt basic cyber hygiene, and stay safer online.
  • AI risk and opportunity: Initiatives balanced harnessing the benefits of artificial intelligence and sharing knowledge on how to reduce AI-enabled threats.
  • Supporting NGOs and small businesses: Targeted programs delivered cybersecurity awareness, training, and capacity building to underserved sectors and communities.
  • Improving infrastructure integrity: Through data platforms, threat analysis, and global norms like MANRS, GCA continued advancing Internet security at systemic scale.

As threats grow in sophistication and scale, this report highlights the urgency of shared responsibility and collective action, and reflects the tangible impact of community-driven cybersecurity across the globe.
