GCA and Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia Join Forces to Strengthen Cybersecurity for SMEs

The Global Cyber Alliance (GCA) and Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia announced today a strategic partnership aimed at deploying the GCA Cybersecurity Toolkit for Small Business in Wallonia, the francophone region of Belgium. This collaboration aims to enhance the cybersecurity posture of businesses in the region by capitalizing on the advanced resources already provided by Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia and various local stakeholders, including the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium.

Wallonia, as a dynamic and ever-evolving region, is not immune to cybersecurity challenges. Data protection, attack prevention, and SME awareness are crucial issues in a rapidly changing digital environment. The partnership between GCA and Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia aligns with a shared vision to strengthen the cyber resilience of Walloon businesses to ensure their sustainability and growth.

The GCA Cybersecurity Toolkit for Small Business, launched in French in 2020, offers a comprehensive set of resources, best practices, and tools designed to help SMEs defend against digital threats. Building upon these resources, GCA and Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia, in collaboration with local partners, have worked to tailor these tools to the specific context of Wallonia.

With links to resources from the Centre for Cybersecurity Belgium, through its Safeonweb @ Work, and other regional initiatives including those proposed by cybermalveillance.gouv.fr in France, this expanded partnership will further reinforce existing efforts, providing increased support to Walloon SMEs on their journey to enhanced cybersecurity.

“This partnership represents a significant step in our commitment to enhancing SME cybersecurity, allowing us to adjust our resources to align with local challenges. Thanks to the Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia program, our cybersecurity toolkit is concretely integrated within the regional cyber ecosystem,” explains Brian Cute, Director of the Capacity and Resilience Program at GCA.

“It is crucial for businesses to start or continue their cybersecurity journey to be more resilient against cyber risks. Having conducted awareness actions for several months, Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia now proposes to move to the next step by providing tools and concrete recommendations to Walloon businesses. This is now possible through our partnership with GCA, allowing us to offer a set of verified, categorized, and tailored tools to the target audience,” mentions Jeremy Grandclaudon, Cybersecurity Expert at the Digital Agency.

The partnership between the Global Cyber Alliance and Cyberwal by Digital Wallonia underscores the need for cross-border collaborations to strengthen cybersecurity in an increasingly interconnected world. SMEs in Wallonia will benefit from innovative resources tailored to their specific needs, thereby enhancing their ability to defend against emerging cyber threats.
