In his role, Govind leads Omidyar Network’s investments and portfolio in upholding governance and technology in the service of an open internet. This includes Open Source Software, Technical Standards, Cyber Security, Digital Public Goods, Internet Governance, and Web3. He has played a critical role in the establishment of capital pooling vehicles such as CoDevelop Fund, FOSS Fund, and the Open Source Policy Network at Atlantic Council.
Govind is member of the executive committee at MOSIP, managing Omidyar Network’s portfolio in the sector, which includes organizations such as the Global Cyber Alliance, Open Source Tech Improvement Fund, Code for Science and Society, and the Center for Democracy and Technology.
Prior to joining Omidyar Network, Govind spent over 15 years investing in private equity and venture capital, with a track record of over 20 deals and 7 exits across cyber security, digital identity, consumer, and tech-enabled sectors.
He has worked across Europe, Africa, Asia Pacific, and North America with Omidyar Network, LGT, and Unitus.
Govind started his career as an analyst in the financial strategy group at Citigroup. He holds a bachelor’s degree in commerce, is a qualified chartered accountant, and is an alumnus of the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley.
