I hope my work as Senior Communications Director at the Global Cyber Alliance (GCA) will elevate the organization’s impact in the community and bring the right information to the right people at the right time.
I first became aware of GCA in about 2018 while working on Internet of Things (IoT) security and routing security. With GCA becoming Secretariat for the Mutually Agreed Norms for Routing Security (MANRS) initiative, I’m excited to be part of the team to further that work in the industry and continue to improve GCA’s other projects that reduce risks to everyday users.
My father was a network engineer before anyone knew what that meant, and my mother was an English teacher. When you combine those powers, you get me – a Geek-to-English translator. My specialty is taking complicated technical concepts and making them understandable and actionable. My previous experience at the American Registry for Internet Numbers (ARIN) and the Internet Society (ISOC) helped me hone these communication skills and reminded me that we still have so much work to do to create a secure and trustworthy Internet we can all rely on.

What’s the greatest bit of advice a parent or mentor has given you?
You don’t have to be the loudest one in the room to have the most impact.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
If I’m not working, I’m probably playing with my dog, working on a puzzle, or doing something outdoorsy if the weather’s nice.
