I am the Administrative Assistant handling a variety of tasks as needed across GCA. I came to GCA in February of 2021 after a long career in New York State government which is what brought me here after my retirement. The mission of GCA aligns with my personal goals of growth and using my skills to make the world a better place.
My prior work experience gave me the ability to adapt and be calm in many diverse, high pressure situations. This has helped me to easily work on a multitude of tasks across the variety of programs at GCA, as well as easily interacting with all of the staff. I enjoy working at GCA; the flexibility and family-friendly atmosphere have made it possible to embark on a new career where I am learning every day.
Who inspires you?
My greatest inspiration is my mother. Even though she is no longer here with me, the way she lived her life and treated others continues to resonate with me. She was an amazing, kind person who saw the best in everyone. I hope that I am just a little bit like her.
What do you enjoy doing when you are not working?
I really enjoy cooking; watching someone enjoy a meal I have made brings me great satisfaction. I also have a great love for reading. I read every kind of genre, but my favorite is biographies and autobiographies in particular. They are fascinating to me because it gives me insight into how others see life.
