With over two decades of expertise in telecom, media and technology, Prof H Sama Nwana consults governments and companies across emerging economies as Managing Partner of Cenerva, a London-based boutique training-led consultancy. He has advised Facebook, Microsoft, World Bank, IFC, and MTN, among others.
Working predominantly across Africa, Asia, and the Caribbean, he advises regulators, development agencies, and companies on maximising opportunities the digital economy provides.
In addition to his consultancy work, Prof. Nwana is a seasoned trainer who has shared his expertise with industry professionals all over Africa, including countries like Nigeria, Kenya, Ghana, Cameroon, Mozambique, Chad, Benin, and more.
Nwana was formerly Group Director at Ofcom, overseeing pivotal programs, including the UK’s 4G spectrum auction, 3G liberalisation, and digital switchover policy implementation. He has also held international leadership roles as Founding CEO of the Dynamic Spectrum Alliance and Managing Director at Arqiva and at Quadriga Worldwide.
Alongside consulting, he lends his expertise as a Full Visiting Professor at the University of Strathclyde (UK). With rich experience across the private and public sectors, Nwana enables leaders to harness the power of technology for digital transformation. He has authored two acclaimed books on TMT and the digital economy in developing countries.
